Meet Jack Smith: Fraser Technologies’ Commercial Manager
Jack Smith, Commercial Manager at Fraser Technologies, has been with the company for just over a year, bringing a unique blend of engineering expertise and commercial acumen to his role. With a background in chemical engineering and a career spanning global engineering management, business development, and even competitive judo, Jack’s journey to Fraser Technologies has been anything but conventional.
Jack’s early career was shaped by his time as a professional judo athlete, winning the British Championship in 2012 and moving to Scotland to pursue the sport at a higher level. However, recognising the need for a long-term career, he studied chemical engineering while continuing his judo training, eventually earning his Master’s degree.

From Judo Champion to Engineering Leader Jack’s Journey to Fraser Technologies
His new engineering career took him across the world and industries, including an internship at Jabil in Florida, where he gained insight into mergers and acquisitions. His most recent role engineering role at an Aerospace revert management company, saw him rapidly progressing to Group Engineering and Maintenance Manager. There, he was responsible for process lines and maintenance across multiple global sites, gaining significant experience in revert management, and precision cleaning in the aerospace industry.
It was during his time as an engineer at the Aerospace revert management company, that Jack first encountered Fraser Technologies. He worked with Graham Fraser on various projects and was particularly impressed by the company’s technical, solutions-driven approach to sales. So, when Jack came across a Commercial Manager role at Fraser Technologies on LinkedIn, he saw an opportunity to apply his engineering knowledge in a customer-focused capacity. After discussions with Graham, Jack found himself in a role that perfectly blended his technical expertise with his business development skills.
Now responsible for growing Fraser Technologies’ customer portfolio, leading sales and marketing functions, and supporting customers with tailored solutions, Jack has played a pivotal role in identifying new market opportunities. One of his major contributions over the past year has been the introduction of a next generation, vacuum vapour degreasing technology, an ultra-low-emission cleaning solution that aligns with Fraser Technologies’ mission of delivering engineered solutions from cradle to grave.
Jack describes Fraser Technologies’ company culture as:
“highly personal, with a strong team dynamic, where everyone wears multiple hats and supports each other”.
Looking ahead, he is eager to continue expanding the company’s technology offerings, onboarding new talent, and ensuring that Fraser Technologies remains a trusted expert partner for manufacturers with critical cleaning needs.
